Join us in northwestern Ontario for a snapshot into the life of an employee at Impala Canada’s, Lac Des Iles Palladium Mine. Spend two days on the mine site, where you will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, tour the underground operation, tour the mill where the ore is processed, and visit the open pit and other aspects of the surface operations.
This tour is open to educators at the elementary and secondary level, post secondary and other educational institutions and individuals from companies/organizations and/or communities with links to mining and mineral resources.
Tour limited to 10 participants, participants are expected to attend for the full duration of the tour and priority is given to Thunder Bay area educators (up until May 15th).
Tour starts Sunday July 30th in Thunder Bay at Terry Fox Monument on Hwy 11/17 at approximately 5pm, you will drive to the mine from there. The tour CONCLUDES on Tuesday August 1st, time TBD.
Participants are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Thunder Bay.
Single accommodations provided on Sunday and Monday night.
Meals provided starting with supper on Sunday and ending with breakfast on Tuesday.
* Priority is given to educators in school boards in the Thunder Bay and surrounding area up until May 15th. After this time, any available remaining spots will be offered to those outside the area based on registration date received.
