Accommodations

OPEN FOR OVERNIGHT RESERVATIONS

We have 32 modern and heated cabin residences. Most of our accommodations are equipped with two double beds and a single top bunk, however we do have four accommodations that sleep six, with three bunk beds (six single beds). We also have two accommodations that are wheelchair accessible, with a modified shower/bathroom area. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to view photo galleries of our accommodations.) Rooms are drive up, with parking spaces available (we are inaccessible to snowmobiles and ATV’s).

We have several designated pet-friendly accommodations. Pets are welcome but they incur an additional cleaning fee. Please inquire about availability when booking.

Our buildings are all smoke-free. Please note that since we are an educational facility, our entire site is cannabis-free.

Regular Cabin

Our regular cabins feature 2 double beds and 1 single top bunk. 

3-Bunk Cabin

Our 3-bunk cabins feature 3 bunk beds (3 top/3 bottom singles)

Adapted Cabin

Our Adapted cabins feature 2 double beds and 1 single top bunk with an accessible shower.

Our cabins are equipped with:
  • Linens (pillows, comforters, sheets)
  • 1 small table and 2 chairs
  • Bar fridge
  • Bathroom with shower and flush toilet
  • Hot and cold potable water
  • Radiant heat (nice and cozy on those cold winter nights)
  • Outdoor plugs (for those cold winter days/nights)
What to bring:
  • TOWELS (Bath, hand and face)
  • FLASHLIGHTS! (it gets really dark here!)
  • Nightlights (helpful if you are bringing kids)
  • Beach Towels
  • Slippers/indoor shoes
  • Travel Mug
  • Meals/Food (if you are not part of a program with meals included, there are no meals on site).
  • Cooking and eating supplies (please see what is included in the dining cabin)
  • Extension cord (in winter if you would like to plug in your vehicle)

The dining cabin is available for all cabin guests for quick meal preparation, reheating food, eating  and doing dishes during their stay.

Dining Cabin Guidelines

We ask that everyone is respectful of others on site and their need to also use the facility. Be flexible with your meal times and plan easy to prepare quick meals…Large gatherings and cooking large meals in the space is NOT PERMITTED

When using this shared space, we ask that you adhere to the following rules;

  • Try to limit your time to no more than 25 to 30 minutes per visit. This is not to be used to as a social hang out spot.
  • Please remove your footwear upon entry.
  • Turn off all appliances (ie. BBQ , coffee maker, etc…) after use.
  • Please wash, dry and put away all items that you use in this space after each use.
  • Turn off lights when leaving the building.
  • Please do not remove any items from the dining cabin.

Enhance your stay with a sweat in our NEW 7 x 8′ White Cedar Barrel Sauna!! Take in the beautiful surroundings through the half moon window. The wood burning heater provide an authentic and rustic atmosphere. Enjoy the natural heat and aroma of cedar as you relax in your sauna.

Booking the Sauna

The Sauna is available at an additional cost of $60 per hour for cabin guests and is subject to availability with advanced notice.

Guests are responsible for bringing their own towels.

Please read our Sauna Safety information before inquiring to ensure a Sauna experience is right for you.

GUIDELINES

Food/Eating in your cabin: There is a small fridge in each cabin, and storing food in your vehicle and/or in a cooler will avoid attracting “critters” in the cabins. Crockpots are permitted in your personal cabin (max of 1 per cabin), but all other appliances (toaster ovens, instapots, air fryers, hotplates, etc.) are NOT permitted.

A $50-$100 key/cleaning deposit is being charged for all cabin rentals. This deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure providing you have left your park pass (during park operating season) and keys in your cabin and followed all check out procedures (listed in the information package sent to your email prior to arrival).

Check-in is virtual. You will be sent your cabin number with an information package via email a few days prior to your arrival. It is important that you read over your information package carefully prior to arrival as it contains directions, check in/out procedures, emergency contacts and what to pack. If you do not receive this information within 48 hours of your arrival please reach out to info@canadianecology.ca

We have several designated pet friendly cabins available for rent for an additional fee. Pet owners are required to respect the following rules:

  • Pets must be on a leash at all times.
  • Pets MUST be crated if left unattended in cabins, please do not leave pets unattended for long periods.
  • Pets are not permitted in any CEC buildings including the shared use dining cabin.
  • Pet owners will be charged for the full costs of any damage repairs or excessive cleaning required (cabins are inspected before and after your stay).

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in your group being asked to leave the premises with no refund.

  • Quiet hours are at 10:00PM… please respect others and always keep your noise levels to a minimum.
  • Alcohol is only permitted in your personal cabin. Open alcohol is prohibited anywhere else on site, including the campfire pit.
  • Smoking is NOT permitted in cabins, any buildings. DO NOT throw cigarette butts on the ground, please place in a can or garbage once fully extinguished.
  • Cannabis is prohibited anywhere on the CEC site as we are designated an educational facility. Please enjoy responsibly off CEC property.
  • Pets must be always on a leash when outside and are not allowed in any cabins or buildings (the exception being our designated pet-friendly cabins – these must be requested upon initial booking). Pets must be crated if left unattended in cabins.
  • Fires are only permitted in designated fire pits. Fires are NOT permitted at cabins.
  • CEC equipment (tubes, bikes, canoes) are for use with CEC educational program only and are not available to guests.
  • Picnic tables are NOT TO BE MOVED from their current locations.

RATES:

  • $125/night + HST

EXCLUDES: Christmas in the Forest Weekends (Nov 29-Dec 1/Dec 7-8/Dec 14-15)

Discounts: 25% off when you stay 2+ nights (applies to Sunday – Thursday arrivals only).

Deposit: A non refundable payment of 10% of the total amount of your stay is due upon booking.

Payment: The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to your arrival date (date will be indicated on your invoice)
Cancellations: Cancellations made no later than 1 week prior to your check in time will be refunded all monies paid minus the 10% deposit.
Cancellations made within 1 week but no later than 3 days prior to your arrival date will be refunded 50% of your booking cost as well as the cleaning deposit.  Cancellations made within 24 hours of your check in date will receive be refunded the cleaning deposit only, no other monies will be returned.
Additional Deposits: $50 refundable key/cleaning deposit (refundable within 2 weeks of departure if keys are returned and all check-out procedures followed).
Pets:
  • Non refundable pet fee of $50/stay (2 pets MAX)
  • refundable cleaning/damage deposit of $250

Silently with the Forest

Celebrate World Labyrinth Day on Saturday May 3rd, 2025

Enjoy a weekend to “disconnect to reconnect” – with yourself and with nature.  Surround yourself with the positive energy of the natural environment while you discover what is important to you.  This weekend is for you to re-energize and re-fuel your body, mind and soul!  During this sampler silent retreat, you will have the opportunity to meet yourself where you are at and challenge yourself to explore the silence within you and around you.  We encourage you to leave your technology behind (or turned off) while you experience 12+hours of silence.  You can choose from a variety of invitations throughout the day to help guide you on your own personal journey, or spend the day in silence as you wish (although we highly encourage you to embrace the day completely or as much outdoors as possible).

HOW TO BOOK

If you are interested in booking please make sure you have read , understand what IS and what IS NOT provided with your rental, and read the information below prior to completing the BOOKING REQUEST. If you have questions regarding a booking, but not sure on dates please email info@canadianecology.ca.
  • JULY BOOKINGS: We are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC for all of July every year as we are operate as a Summer School during this time.
  • Once you have submitted you request, and we have a cabin available, we will send an invoice through our online Square Account with a detailed information package attached. A non-refundable deposit (10-15%) will be required to secure your booking, with the balance due 1-2 weeks prior to your arrival.
  • PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION PACKAGE AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT CHECK IN PROCEDURES, AND INFORMATION REGARDING WHAT IS INCLUDED AND NOT IN YOUR RENTAL.
  • All check-in’s will be virtual. Check in details will be included in your information package which will be sent via email along with your cabin # a few days prior to your arrival.
  • The Provincial Park is open from the weekend before the May long weekend to Thanksgiving Monday in October, during this time all vehicles require a valid Provincial Park vehicle pass, the CEC will be providing park vehicle passes with cabin rentals on behalf of the provincial park at a rate of $18 per night/vehicle ($15.93/night +HST). Ontario Parks Season Pass holders will have this fee waived.
  • The Provincial Park is closed from November to April, during this time, the park trails, roadways and waterways are use at your own risk.
